Rodgers Wants Out

Be a team player don't be a whiny little .......
ML’s plan was to help Rodgers by taking things off his plate, meanwhile Rodgers wanted to run the whole damn restaurant, except maybe the coat check.

  • The language of Aaron Rodgers‘ contract is going to get a lot of attention if his current beef with the Packers turns into a real holdout. Rodgers earned a $6.8MM roster bonus on the third day of the league year, but he hasn’t actually received that money yet since it’s to be “paid concurrently with his 2021 base salary,” former NFL agent and current CBS Sports analyst Joel Corry tweets. Corry notes that Green Bay has “the right to take fines & any recapture of signing bonus due to a training camp holdout from this money.” There was talk of Rodgers having to pay back that $6.8MM, but it turns out he hasn’t even gotten it yet. The Packers can start chipping away at that the moment he doesn’t show up for mandatory practices.

and that's just the sort of a-holish thing that i would expect from murphy - burning bridges from the start. honestly, when i read that those were the contract terms, i thought "maybe murphy had this whole thing planned from the beginning."

I think only way this happens is if Rodgers would say screw it I retire then they would say yeah you have to pay that back.

Huh? None of the above has happened yet.
of course not. training camp has not started yet, so there's no way that rodgers could be holding out from mandatory practices yet.

note that the word "yet" appears several times above.

Yes I don't think the first Mandatory camp for vets is until June so it's possible Rodgers could be traded by then.

I kinda think whatever is going to happen one way or the other will be settled in the next month. I can't fathom they would allow it to become an actual circus and camp distraction.
