Apologizing is a sign of weakness. -Leroy Jethro Gibbsnever admit your mistakes.
I get that. But it’s not just a cash thing it’s also cap relief. While a football decision is part of it you have to project this thing 3-5 years down the road and that makes the business part come into play. It impacts maybe what you do with Adams, are you comfortable that Rodgers can play at a level that gets you deep in January not just 2021 but 2022 , 2023 and maybe beyond. I would hope this organization has a long term vision of this. Credit to Thompson they stuck to a timeline. If I had to boil it down to one thing, I just think they should make a football decision here. I know Im repeating but if you believe in Love and believe he has a future in the NFL, then hold the line on Rodgers, take your lumps, commit to the kid and surround him with assets from a Rodgers trade. If you don't, then make it work with Rodgers, admit your mistake and start over with the succession plan. I know it's a business and other things come into play, but at the heart of things it's a football decision, and don't let sunk draft capital or cash (which the team gets for free any way without doing a thing) drive the decision.
But Packers call his bluff he shows up. He pouts like the child he acts like but he shows up and plays.Which is paramount to why he won’t walk. It’s just not a smart business decision. Now will he eat some to put pressure on the organization? I think so
The chances of him showing up on day 1 are slim. I really hope nobody plays hard ball here. Just move onBut Packers call his bluff he shows up. He pouts like the child he acts like but he shows up and plays.
