Rodgers Wants Out

Or he can live a happy life in his happy place and that’s fine. If he walks, don’t care honestly won’t impact my life
He walks fine hope he enjoys himself but do it for right reasons not because your feelings got hurt.

Not to hijack the thread but Kobe and Shaq would take issue with that.
While Kobe and Shaq were great I don't think they changed the game. I think you had Jordan then James in guys who changed the game.

In many ways it’s already to late for teams to integrate him in any system. Now add in salary cap considerations it’s next to impossible to find a trade partner. The market right now is maybe Denver and Las Vegas and I’m not sold either is a viable option. Next year teams like Miami, Arizona, Washington, Carolina, Tampa could become viable options along with Denver and LV.

The organization and Rodgers are both in a rock and a hard place situation for different reasons. The organization has the most valuable asset they ever had and need to maximize the value and that timeline is ugly right now. Rodgers has financial and age considerations and in a way is betting on himself if he sits. If he plays he risks skills decline and injury and if that happens kiss a extension goodbye.
This is what I am saying this late in year you are limited to 1 team maybe that will take him. Even if he sits out 2021 I rather do that then trade him now as 2022 opens up more teams to likely want him in a trade.

We really just need to make the trade and take what we can get. I truly believe we'll only get less later. For one thing, teams that want him now, need him now, to work into their team's schemes and strategies. Mid, late training camp or after the season, he's of less value to them because they can't get him going. Now is the time.
Disagree at this point you don't trade him and just get whatever you get. 2022 more teams will have cap space and want him in the off-season. You let him sit out if he wants to. Then in 2022 you lower the cap hit in trading him have more teams in on him and get more then for him then you would now when you maybe have one team that would take him.

So who decides what the "right reason" is? Not you or me or the fans. Its just like any job, people have different reasons for leaving and moving on, its an individual decision

FWIW when I say transcendent I don't mean anything within the game itself. I mean guys who were really meaningful beyond the sport and the game, not changing the way the game is played. It's something that happens organically, you become part of the fabric of the city or region. That's not Rodgers, that's not LeBron. But it IS Kobe, certainly. and Favre, Messier, Jeter, Big Papi, to name some recent ones.

In that way I do give you Kobe. But I think it's LeBron LeBron made basketball in Cleveland mean something and brought a title to the city for the first time in like 65-70 years.

I will give you that. The right reason can be blured in the eyes of every person.
