I question if Rodgers plays more then 2 years even if he was not in fight with GB.

They were not giving him an extension or some full guarantee. That’s not some new breaking news. And let’s be honest he knows that

Yeah Packers won't guarantee anything beyond this year and you can't blame them QB's do not have a good track record past 40.

Whomever woudl trade for him would also be taking a huge gamble that he plays at high level for 2-3 years.

since we're all being speculative here, i think that when rodgers contract was negotiated, there was certainly talk about his desire to start and end his career with the packers. and i believe that murphy and gute blew smoke up his a$$ about how they wanted that too. and then - for whatever reason - it became apparent that it was just smoke and the the timeline had changed. you can say all you want about football being a business, but how many businesses get rid of their top performers when they are at the top of their game? it may be business, but it isn't good business at all.

and yes, i believe that rodgers has a right to feel betrayed.

I would not doubt that but the way the contract was structured both parties had to be somewhat aware that it was set up to have an “out” after the 2021-22 season.

The NFL in general is not good business to your point. How many guys get cut in year 3-4 of a 5 year deal because of “cap considerations”. Part of that is on the players but loyalty in the league is near non existent. The average career is what 3-5 years? They are a commodity while the league cuts a checks to each team for $300m before the lights go on. Sorry bit of a rant here but it gets a bit into Rodgers “it’s about the people” comment

Also wanted a out what if Rodgers got hurt and said you know what I am sick of this I played enough I am not coming back. You also wanted to make sure you could get out in case he just decided one day to retire and not be on the hook for 2-3 years of guranteed money.

Almost all contracts are structured with 3 years in mind. It’s not exclusive to GB, it’s the NFL norm
 
One point I'd suggest. Rodgers probably plans on actually playing 3 or more years at this point. He wouldn't be a hot item for a team that would only get him for two. The situation in TB is unique. It was a free agent deal. Brady can pull up stakes any time he wants, and they can cut the strings too. That's not true of Rodgers. He has a contract.
