Battle for Packers' 5th receiver spot heating up

I have to go with Janis, size and speed, he is a gamer. White has had 3 years to get it but chokes in games, Janis does not

How do we know that? Neither has played. Janis also still has not shown in games he can run more then the simplest routes. On Friday radio was talking about Janis saying that he might be fastest guy on team he might not have the highest football IQ which could hurt him ala learning to run different routes. It might be nice if he can run a 4.4 40 but if he can't learn routes that speed is useless. White has shown more development by far then Janis has.

if you were speaking facts, that would be one thing. but when you just make stuff up and write them down as is they were facts, that's quite another. white is in his third year and janis is in his second. and while we would expect white to show "more development by far" than janis, the truth is that white has been on the practice squad for two years and janis was elevated to the 53-man roster in his first season. and according to mike mccarthy, he was ready to play last year. by the way, janis has 4.3 speed, not 4.4 speed. it is a rare attribute and well worth developing. and the speed is not useless even if he doesn't know the full route tree. billy schroeder proved that. any time you put janis in the game, defenses will have to respect that speed or take the chance of getting burned. we saw janis go up against the patriots #1 corner a couple days ago and he smoked him. and that was with tolzien throwing the ball. rodgers can fit it in a tighter window. in my opinion, there is no question which guy you keep.
Now since you want to speak on facts... let's go to school shall we. That pats D was playing cover 2 man over... Safety was supposed to come and help and blew it. Great read by Tolzien but don't you dare start saying it was "a great WR play" it was a busted coverage.
Rodgers talked about his routes and trust extensively in the off season, has he improved absolutely but 1 pre season game is hardly the catalyst for declaring he's better than anyone.
Also MM says nice things about all his players regardless... so does TT which is why we tend to hold on to them 1 season too long sometimes.
Bottom line ... GBp4 has an opinion as do you. Let's not belittle anyones viewpoint.

Analysis
Strengths
Exceptional measurables and leaping ability -- will test through the roof. Accelerates into routes quickly and can separate vertically and uncover underneath working short-to-intermediate zones. Terrific production -- carves up lesser competition and creates chunk plays. Good red-zone target. Exceptional work ethic. Outstanding football character. Very passionate about the game. Has a 37 1/2-inch vertical jump, posted a 3.98-second 20-yard shuttle (fourth-best among receivers) and a 6.64-second 3-cone time.
Weaknesses
Has very small, inconsistent hands -- will cradle the ball and use his body. Is not a nuanced route runner. Does not attack the ball in the air and will give up some break points. Not strong after the catch and will look for a soft landing spot. Can be fazed by traffic. Regularly faced Division II competition. Not a consistent blocker -- does not play to his size.
Frankly his cult following isn't going to help the kid. Agree with Mark let it play out.

Well, Janis did go against their #1 cb and he did smoke him and it was a nice throw and catch. If a safety was suppose to give help, and didnt, then he screwed up. It doesnt take away the fact Janis beat the QB for a nice catch and td.
Janis had a decent game and White did not. However it was the 1st pre-season game, and we will see how they do in the remaining 3 games. They have had decent camps, so game production is what will separate who stays and who dont. I think both White and Janis may make the team as I feel they go with 3 TEs and 6 WRs.

And we know these bits of info to always be 100% spot on. How many guys were said to be to short, to slow, to short of arms, etc and wouldnt make it in the NFL, but somehow they magically did fine?
