GREEN BAY (4-5) AT WASHINGTON (5-3-1)
Sunday, Nov. 20 l FedEx Field l 7:30 p.m. CST
The Green Bay Packers travel to Washington to play the Redskins in the second game of a three-game road trip.
The Packers hold a 20-14-1 advantage in the overall series with Washington, including a 2-1 record in the playoffs.
Including the postseason, Green Bay has won six of the last seven games against Washington, outscoring the Redskins by 107 points in those contests. Five of the Packers’ six victories over Washington during that time were decided by 14-plus points.
Green Bay last faced the Redskins in last January’s Wild Card playoff game in Washington, a 35-18 Packers victory.
It is the first time the Packers have played at Washington in back-to-back seasons.
This is the Packers’ third appearance this season on Sunday Night Football, having lost, 17-14, at Minnesota in Week 2 and won, 23-17, against the New York Giants at Lambeau Field in Week 5.
Dating back to 1990, the Packers are 24-10 in Sunday night games during the regular season, including 12-8 under Head Coach Mike McCarthy. Of the 34 games, 18 have been played on the road, and Green Bay is 11-7 in those contests.
It will be the first time Green Bay and Washington will play against each other on Sunday Night Football, but is the fourth time they have faced off in primetime. The previous three contests were on Monday Night Football with the Packers winning both games in Green Bay (1983 and 2001) and the Redskins winning the game in Washington (1977).
Nov. 20 is the latest date on the calendar that Green Bay and Washington have met during the regular season since 1979, when they played on Dec. 2 at Washington.
Under McCarthy, Green Bay is 83-42-1 during the regular season against NFC opponents. The Packers’ 83 wins and .663 winning percentage both rank No. 1 among NFC teams over that span.
Green Bay is 35-27 on the road against NFC teams since 2006, a .565 winning percentage that ranks No. 2 in the NFC, trailing only the Dallas Cowboys (37-26, .587).
The Packers have scored 23 or more points in six of the last seven games. Dating back to Week 3, they are tied for the third-most 23-plus point games in the NFL, trailing only Atlanta and Dallas who each have seven (according to pro-football-reference.com).
Green Bay has had one or more players record 10-plus receptions in four of the last five games.
The Packers are playing three road games in a row for the first time since 2012 and only the third time in the last 19 seasons (also 1998).
Green Bay will next travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles on Monday Night Football. It is the last of five primetime games that were scheduled for Green Bay this season. The Packers were 2-1 in their first three primetime games this season.

THE PACKERS-REDSKINS SERIES
The Packers first met the Redskins (then Boston Braves) in 1932, five days after Franklin D. Roosevelt won his first presidential election.
The two clubs met several times in the early years, most memorably in the 1936 NFL championship game. That year, Redskins owner George Preston Marshall, upset with his fans’ lack of support, was moving his team to Washington and didn’t want to host the championship in Boston. So, the NFL moved the game to New York’s Polo Grounds, where Green Bay claimed its fourth title, 21-6.
The Packers and Redskins played the highest-scoring game in Monday Night Football history on Oct. 17, 1983, at Lambeau Field, in a game that featured 11 TDs and six FGs in the 48-47 Green Bay win.
Despite playing in the same conference, the Packers and Redskins did not play against each other during the 1990s.

I don't think we stay with them. Of course, if McCarthy allows them to play football instead of the inane game he thinks is football, the Packers can win. You can't keep taking away the weapons we have on offense by not having them as part of the reads on passing plays. You also need to use short passes in the middle to loosen their linebackers so we can run.

In the meantime, the doughboy watches, and thinks about who can be blamed for not "executing."

Close game 27-24 or somewheres around there. Coin toss who pulls it out. WAS is a physical team and I don't think anyone on GB has what it takes to punch back. I don't think GB can hold up to them for an entire game. I'm looking at at least 2 more injuries. Cousins is on a hot streak of sorts.. And they play in a physical division where every team is above .500.... Gruden will out game plan MM and confuse both MM and DC...

There's a real possibility GB doesn't win again until CHI on 12/18....

Packers are in a tailspin. Some reports say MM and Rodgers relationship is a mess. If MM has lost this lockerrom will be long rest of the season. Packers have not shown any signs of the ship is still not sinking.

This game and the Dallas game were my difference maker games - win both, 11-5. Lose both, 9-7.

I thought we had a strong chance of winning this game but now I'm not so sure. I think we lose again. Probably closer than last week, but I'm not sure they have enough desire to turn around the season. (Plus, OL might be banged up. Heard this morning that Lang admitted he might miss a couple of games and I don't know BahkT's situation. I'm not too hopeful if we have to throw out a cobbled together OL.)

Season really sort of hinges on this game. Philly and Seattle seem likely to be future losses which brings us to 7 losses. Lose to the 'Skins and it makes 8. The division stinks right now, but 8-8 is not gonna get it done. I hope I'm wrong but I see something like a 28-23 loss.

Run? With the MASH unit for an online and no legitimate running back? We have one legitimate weapon on offense 87. 18 is banged up. 17 is inconsistent. Oh and no TE

This team on offense is in a damed if you do damed if you don't on offense. You go spread and play small ball you better protect 12.
plus Washington will play press coverage and that won't end up well.

I digress

Too many injuries up front on ol. Secondary is on burn alert

Remember the epic 1983 Monday Nite battle. 48-47 Pack over the Super Bowl champion Redskins? History won't repeat itself. 31-17 skins

Delanie Walker ripped the Packers for 9 rec / 124 yd / 1 TD.

Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed are going to run all over the field and make the Packers D look foolish for yet another week.

This time its not going to matter how frequent Montgomery is on the field. NBC is going to wish they could flex this one out.
Redskins... 37
Packers... 24

Turn out the lights... the party's over.
