Is there a way he can be re-assigned to the coaching staff around week 9?

He's the guy who needs little to no work in TC and could be told we want to look at our young TE in camp give them work and if we need you sign you a week or two before the season.

This is one of the few guys I bring back who could be a good influence on the young kids. Works hard does his job and doesn’t whine…
NO...We drafted two rookies for a reason. No retreads are needed.
SEE THIS >>> No room for extra vet anyone outside of emergency signings. This is your group. No need to do the should we sign anyone stuff...no $$

Rebuilding the core of the team through the draft is the way to do it right. Spending money on vets can be costly, and offers less long term value in most cases. Whether or not the drafted the right players remains to be seen, but at least they're working on creating a young nucleus, and that's how you develop a roster that can win, over a series of years, not just one.

Yeah no. Just no way. He knows it too. They gave him the third contract - which I maintain was a good move - but rotten luck he got that injury and it blew up in their face. They’re not giving a 4th contract to an aging LT with a bum knee, he’ll be on the Jets.
