Prediction of Roster Cut Down

Now that game three is played - hey a lot more interesting - been fun to follow this thread. Packers DRAFT and DEVELOP and compared to 31 other teams are known for being quite loyal as an organization to these players they have this time and training investment in.

STILL - 2015 and even going into 2016 season - it's going to be the business of football - the figuring out of who has developed enough over a certain amount of years and who has not. (That specific window of time with circumstances, injury history, availability to play + what was accomplished on the field when they were in play.) Yes - personally I'm feeling less about attachments (emotions) and more on assessments (logic) for the Packers. STILL - I got that Packers figuring out (thinking) risks to rewards ratio bouncing around in my mind. - Kaye

Very good point. Frankly if I'm TT I'm trying to trade Perry now for anything I can get. I don't care for Mike Neal's injury history but at least he's active. Perry is just so passive all the time and clearly not a system fit. Vaughters has been active on ST and has a chance at converting to ILB. Maybe you can get him onto the PS but maybe there's enough there to show he belongs on a roster.
I agree with you on Vaughters, we may be able to stash him on practice squad

We aren't gonna go with Hundley as Rodgers primary backup. Tolzien will be #2, Hundley #3 and perhaps Blanchard on the PS if he passes waivers.

I doubt Crockett has overtaken Starks.

I hope we can find someone to replace Mashay. FCC(

Do you think at this point they will replace Masthay? I think we are kinda stuck with him for season.

I have a feeling that Rajon Neal made a case for him being the 3rd RB. The others have a flashes, but I think he has been fairly consistent.

you're probably correct about tolzein. but stranger things have happened. hundley had a qb rating of over 111 in only his third nfl action. yes, it is preseason, but the eagles were playing to win. i could see the packers trying to swing some kind of trade for tolzein with one of the teams that is desperate for a qb if mm is confident that this game was not a fluke and hundley would be adequate as a fill-in for a game or two. it would be a risk, for sure, but the other good thing about hundley is that he is very mobile. and with our o-line in its current state. a mobile backup qb would stand a better chance than a pocket passer.

I think risk reward ratio is in the eye of the beholding coaches and TT which we often disagree with

TRUE DIS - (smiling) - we fans "conjecture" - the ultimate responsibilities are on their brains and shoulders. I am on "wait and see" what evolves in tonight's preseason game with the Saints + what happens for final cuts. So much currently "in-play" for all the teams - but especially our Packers. My deep gut is telling me they want that next Super Bowl - and here is where that march begins building the team - chemistry of players - team identity for 2015 - and the one game at a time. The past couple three seasons we have heard the word "fundamentals" so many times. THIS + 2016 is THE TIME for sound fundamentals to be solidified and that next level achieved. THIS current season and NEXT season - keeping an eye on as best I can. - Kaye
