Next Badgers Football Coach

For the record Jimmy L will last 3-5 seasons and be terminated by the new AD, he will struggle in recruiting but his downfall will be overall team management within a power 5 program. If I am wrong in 5 years I'll eat crow. No I don't like the hire for the multiple reasons mentioned all around this forum, I do wish him all the best because that's what's right for the program.

While I do appreciate the prediction, I would appreciate it more if you threw more skin in the game, much like @rpiotr01 did when he sacrificed one of his family jewels.....

Skin in the game, like being the guy who owns and runs the place?? You know one of these days I'll probably get tired of the whole shtick and close-up shop and move on.... until then you'll have to settle for crow.

I am onboard with this, I've said here before Jimmy isn't as popular as the media and alumni think. He'll razzle dazzle the WFCA folks until those LB from NW WI get run over by USC and Ohio state, then just like PC after a few blowouts the rumblings will take their toll. The most interesting thing is who he turns his defense over too or will he pull a PC and micromanage it?

I want to see how he reshuffles his whole staff and if he talks them into refunding the recruiting part, if not. hide)

I think the D staff does not change much. I am worried that he won't change the offense either

Fine you twisted my arm, I’ll go double or nothing on the nut I lost when I said GB would never sign old man Cobby.

In all seriousness, I said in shout last night but the best part of them hiring JL is that ML can’t scoop him up and set the Packer D back again.

My worry is that we even see more kids leave the school or decommit when JL is officially announced. We have already seen a bunch leave.

JL better step up the recruiting and fast, after next season they have nothing behind Mertz and it appears not much behind Allen. The defensive secondary is full of portal guys as well.

I actually like Jim L a lot but I think PC left him some challenges and Chris M won't be much help in overcoming those.I still find it weird they fired PC mid season to hire him? onwisco)

Bucky is probably going to have a couple tough years.

I'm not worried about kids leaving. Honestly, this bunch doesn't impress me. Tons of mental mistakes and stupid plays and NO FREAKIN' HEART FROM A LOT OF THEM - mostly offensive line (Watched a clip on the Unertl Drive. 3d-2d string senior on senior day. Defense box loaded. Bucky Offensive Line blowing opponent off the line. Longing for the old days when Bucky Offensive Line was a powerful thing of beauty).

If Leonhard gets the job, I'm not concerned about:

• him keeping his fingers in the defense; or

• Recruiting. I think he will be able to sell Wisconsin. Again, Wisconsin isn't for everyone. I think he'll get the people that want to be in Madison and play for him.

I'm more concerned about what he does with the offense. I'm not impressed with it, or it's strategies and tactics. I acknowledge it couldn't be changed mid season, but unless there's behind the scenes coaches room complete overhaul on board with current Offensive staff, let them all go.

Interesting times.
