Badgers I believe have 5 QBs now in QB room

Van Dyke
Locke
Evers
LaCrue
Mettauer

Van Dyke is a prototypical QB, sizewise. Got a cannon arm. Unfortunately, not a great runner. Interesting that he still has 2 years left. If he starts for 2 years, that won't leave much opportunity for Evers or Locke. Thing with both of them is that they've both been in the portal once already. If they enter again, I believe they need to sit out a year. Of course if Van Dyke has a good year he may be gone after 1 year.
I believe he only has 1 year left he used up 3 years already.

Sounds like Tanner Bortolini has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, essentially ending his time in Madison. Borto is a solid player and will likely succeed at OG, he's just not a center. Now the Badgers will be really thin at OC next year. Portal time?

Sounds like the Badgers got a commitment from portal TE Jackson McGohan who played for LSU last year, Seems like more of a pass catching/split out TE than an in-line blocking type. Not a burner, but fast enough to stress a defense making him a nice addition.

I have a feeling Tanner was told that Jake Renfro is penciled in as next year's starter at center. That he would be competing for one of the guard spots. Instead, he opted out. I can understand that decision. It would be a crap shoot for him as to what would happen in regards to play time, and the potentiality of catching on in the NFL.
