His on the field play was very inconsistent in 2004. Sure he had the "signature" game vs USC 29-34 for 267, but also was pretty pedestrian vs Washington, Arizona State, Southern Miss and Texas Tech. His JR actually was better and that had a few clunkers also.
like the QB pool in 2005 was spectacular. And they were not "so called issues". They were very real

But still I think the Rodgers draft fall made a lot of teams now willing to take a gamble on a QB and take them higher then they should draft one because the need to find that franchise QB.
I never seen one Favre and Rodgers are both down to earth guys.
and I could say they flip side that how many guys flame out you need to be more cautious.
But with a win now league and guys getting fired if they are not winning in 3-4 years they are being shown the door a lot more now.
