Wisconsin wants to educate athletes on NIL, not oversee contracts. But some proposed deals raised questions.

Ok lets say kid signs sponsorship to promote Joe's Pizza year later school signs deal with Bob's pizza so does kid then have to drop deal that was approved already because school now is sponsored by different pizza place?
Also depends how the sponsorships agreement is written. Is it exclusive? Local vs National?

How does WI run it if something like that happens were a deal was approved then the team goes and signs a deal of there own afterwards.
Depends on the language. Good example is automotive. You can have a deal for domestic auto, foreign auto, exclusive to trucks or SUV.

So if a owner has a bunch of different dealerships the kid could sign a deal to rep each one's brand then?

Contracts don’t have grey areas. It’s pretty black and white.
just saying grey area let's say as I said player sponor's Joe's pizza. UW signs with Pizza Hut since it's a local vs National would that block player from getting it approved since UW has pizza deal.

Technically yes, he could sign a deal under let’s say Hendrick Automative which has multiple brands….now. …unless the school has an exclusive agreement and those deals are pretty detailed there could be restrictions.

So school could not block him from signing any deal if school reps say Chevy they say sorry we have deal with Chevy you can't promote any other brand because that conflicts with us?

If it’s an exclusive agreement yes. But devil is in the details so on the flip side exceptions are made.
