2022 Badger Football Thread

Oregon has run the ball 319 times this year , passed 269.
But, their passes are more efficient and produce better results.

My point is receivers want to go somewhere to showcase their skills. And, at the moment, it ain't Wisconsin.

I hope to hell it changes. I'm a Bucky Homer, but why would you send a QB or reciever who might be able to make the shoe to Wisconsin?

Actually no sir, he was solid on UW earlier in the year big time. He didn't start listening to the other offers or even taking calls until PC was canned.

IMO it's hard to know for sure, and this all becomes a chicken or egg thing. Sure, earlier in the year he was solid, before football season really got going and he started putting up big numbers and started to get interest from programs like Oregon, A&M, Utah, others.

It's hard to know what recruits are thinking because what they say and what they do, don't always exactly match, and they are typically saying nice things about everyone and not burning bridges. Heck, Kekahuna was still talking about being 100% committed 2-3 weeks after Chryst was fired.

The Oregon offer didn't happen until a few weeks ago. He visited Oregon just recently. There are reports that Oregon was his dream school. We'll never know if he would have ignored Oregon if Chryst was still on board since he's said nothing about that either way.

Braelon Allen is having one heck of a year for UW. If you throw out the IL game were he had only 8 rushes for 2 yards he has 868 yards in 8 games. Having over a 100 yard average in those games is pretty good when you have a pretty bad OL, and at best a shaky QB/WR group. Will be interesting if Allen goes into the portal or not after the season depending on who the HC and OC ends up being. Though I think no matter what Allen will go pro after next year as he will be in that 3rd-4th round in draft I think.

Another week into Jimmy L's program and the team is looking strong.

Hope he stays at Kansas at least this year. Seems like longshot he gets UW job and would not want him to have to take over that dumpster fire thats been Nebraska for the last decade.

It’s still not a pass first offense as you stated. Just so we are on the same page, Wisconsin currently has a 5 star QB behind center and was rated I believe a top 10 pro style QB nationality. We can debate ratings which is a totally different discussion which is fine. But Danny Davis was a 4 star WR coming out of HS.

Hope the west coast kids you spoke of who got offers enjoyed the Wisconsin weather for their on campus visit yesterday

I highly doubt he it’s the portal (Allen)

As to Allen going pro, if you leave early to be a 3rd or 4th round pick your getting bad advice. And that’s probably as of now his ceiling. He’s not Gordon or Taylor or James White. He’s probably a better version of John Clay or PJ Hill at this point. We don’t know what he is in pass pro, he’s at best average out of backfield and while he’s got some speed he’s not going to beat guys at the next level. He’s got good feet but he’s hesitant at times which in part due to inexperience but he’s not particularly fast to the hole either. Nice kid and RB at this level but it’s not going to translate well at the next level

Personally he would have stayed at safety or LB, he would have been a beast
