Rodgers Wants Out

But, wouldn’t doing so, more or less, confirm his buying in was a strategic move to look good to WI sports fans?
At least the optics would make it look as such.
It’s a minority piece of the team. To me it’s a guy who is a fan and wanted a toy to play with. Nothing more nothing less

I think we're getting real harsh on Rodgers.

Is he an egotistical self-centered diva prick? Sure seems to be. At least he's acting like one now.

Did he completely fit in like a "Wisconsin" country boy? No. But, neither do most of Milwaukee or Madison. There is a huge difference between Milwaukee and Madison culture and that of the rest of Wisconsin. Rodgers is probably aligned with Milwaukee and Madison.

I believe Rodgers wanted to be a Packer for his entire career.

If you want "Wisconsin Country Boys" on the Pack, restrict draft choices to those raised in Wisconsin - majority rural Wisconsin.

I believe Rodgers really likes Wisconsin, its people, and its craziness. I'm not saying he would ever want to live in Wisconsin permanently. I don't have a problem with that. I bet he visits.

I believe this fiasco is partly caused by Rodgers being an egotistical self-centered diva prick, but mostly caused by our Front Office not recognizing that and not communicating with him to a level I believe he's earned. Regardless of his attitude, his play is beyond special. He is the Pack's most valuable football player asset and we're squandering it. When he's traded, I doubt we get close to the haul predicted. Bulls 2.

Regarding Favre v Rodgers. Favre was the first one to dump us, and good old Favre did. I think a lot of the anger at Rodgers is arising out of here we go again.

It's too damn bad.

Keg Jordan retired after the 1998 season. There was no “haul” to be had.

I remember my Cousin reminiscing about a guy he knew who played for the 49ers. He was a conch, through and through. He had a bit of a cussing habit, but it was almost colorful coming from him. In fact, the two times I talked to him, I don't think I heard him go two sentences without cussing. They had trouble interviewing him. Everything had to be canned, or on delay, because of his language.

He liked the waterfront bars in the Bay area, and I think that was about it. After seven total years in the NFL, it's my guess he returned to the Keys to live happily ever after, in a bungalow that spends 1/4 of it's time half under water.

We become a product of how we're raised, and where we're raised. The area that Rodgers comes from in California is interesting. That includes Grass Valley, where I used to spend some time, myself. It's also where the cousin I refer to above lived. A lot of them are people who escaped the cities, and a lot of them who long for the life in LA, and the Bay area. But, interesting people to say the least.

I understand Rodgers. He's one of them. He got enough elitism rubbed off on him at Cal.

I think you can say that about 95% of the players who have played in GB in the “modern era”. As Mark said Wisconsin is an acquired taste and GB even more so. I don’t fault him for that. Bottom line for the majority of these guys it’s a business. They get it, owners get it. He’s from Chino but he’s a Malibu guy now, dating the Hollywood types. And I don’t think, personal opinion, that football is priority #1 in his life. And I don’t hold a grudge on him for that either. How he’s dealing with this is far from ideal and yes he carries much of the blame.

lol. that aint all.
I've been both places. Helped escort a female prisoner facing another murder charge back up North for court. She was in Chino. Not my favorite area, even way back then. Chico on the other hand is a lot more laid back, and was still a place where a lot of people left their keys in their car while shopping.
