Rodgers Wants Out

Just think. If Rodgers had a ho-hum year, and the Packers finished 8-8, we probably wouldn't be seeing any of this happening.
You're exactly right. As Packinatl has opined and pointed out, they had a plan. They planned their work and were working their plan when AR went off on an MVP season. They either needed to reassess and have a contingency plan, if that happened, or have the guts to follow through with their original plan.

Exactly. I also need to believe that they had to be realizing that he was having an MVP year and, at that point, should have/would have discussed the ramifications and contingency plan. If they weren't assessing the situation on the fly, then they are grossly incompetent as some have speculated.
Ahh the famous Andrew Brandt comments about “people skills “ and “communication”. 2 essential things lacking if you have to settle on a contingency plan

One thing that is in the back of my mind. While I believe that Murphy is the one who is ultimately calling the shots, I have this sense that the “Big 3”, Gute, ML and Murphy are not on the same page and maybe even Ball.

If you keep Rodgers in “2021 and beyond” with. beyond being the key word you have essentially thrown your GM under the bus assuming Love is not a bust. If you extend him and throw the cap in a quagmire you essentially put Ball in a no win situation for years. Who’s stuck in the middle? ML. You either have to deal with a disgruntled QB who thinks he’s running the show or have a guy you need to develop and hopefully justify what your GM did. Far from ideal in many levels and not even factoring in the distraction for the next 12 months
ML yeah he wants to keep him but I think ML is you get the players we give you and like it.

Well it was planned when they drafted Love. The timing was turning the keys over in 2022 but “someone threw a wrench in that plan” by having an MVP year and they did not know how to pivot. Now they are in a major rock and a hard place
I wonder if Gute thought ok here is my chance to pick the QB of the future I am taking it now.

Planned as in assesing all the risks, weighing downsides, and getting everyone on the same page going forward.

I think Rodgers should have been involved. Scratch that one off.

But now it seems they just took Love without any thought of the reaction of their Hall Of Fame QB and without any thought of what to do if it went south
Should they have maybe given Rodgers a heads up? Sure but no he should have had zero say in the draft.

Like it or not Love was the guy they had targeted, you don’t trade up if he’s not. And no I don’t think it was just a Gute decision

Even with my Green and Gold glasses and my love of Rodgers as a football player, I find it hard to believe we will get close to the haul described by the media talking heads.

I believe every day he holds out chips away at what we could negotiate in trade.

As for Rodgers the football player, I'm not sure the new Hollywood Fiance will be a benefit. He's already lost 15 pounds. I'm not chasing him, 300+ pound plus guys are with bad attitudes that are very very fast. Hopefully, she's not having too much a Hollywood weird influence on him.

For his life and happiness, she's great. Glad for him.
You will get a 1st for him that I have no doubt on.

I woner though if Gute panicked when the WR that went to SF went he overthought it and moved up to get Love scared he would go when he did not need to.

The market is not changed much if any over the last 6 months, now what it looks like next off season is the unknown.
I think you even wait to next season unless he gets hurt you won't lose a ton of value.

Thing is you wait to 2022 to trade Rodgers could a package deal be made with Rodgers and tag and trade with Adams as a duo to a team?
