Bucks vs Suns NBA Finals Thread

100% agree on Harden. What’s been a bit perplexing to me is the 3 point shots have not fallen. The looks are there. I’ve felt that the short breaks in the Brooklyn and Atlanta series did not help get their legs back so maybe that’s part of the issue. Could also be just playoff pressure

I still believe it's ball movement. The Bucks seem to shoot better in rhythm, not when they set up for a shot, and wait for the ball. I see that in so many NBA players, because they aren't comfortable shooting from a stationary position. I noticed that the majority of even those on the sidelines are when they step back, or take a step left or right to avoid pressure. If they have time to think, the ball goes everywhere except in the net.

I know I was horrible as a flat footed shooter. I was better from the field under pressure than when I got a jumper with no pressure at all. My trajectory flattened out too much without someone to challenge. I had to work like the dickens to overcome it at the foul line, and did it by putting a volley ball net across the lane in front of me, at a height that made me get loft on the ball. It added 20% to my average. Every time I started slipping, back came the net.

By the way, I used that same net to train myself at 5-11 to pay center against guys 6" or more taller than me, and still score. It worked. I'd outscore my taller opponents about half the time, and was never totally dominated, even by a guy who was 6-10. He outscored me 20+ to 13, but he was used to outscoring his opposite number by 20 or more every game. We split with them that year.

To me it’s more about spacing actually. Like it or not the pro game is based on penetration, kick outs and guys spotting up above the arc. Phoenix used it in game 2 with Bridges and Cam Johnson spotting up. Ball movement is fine but unless you get consistent penetration (Suns game 1) the defense can recover. When the Bucks offense goes stagnant, it’s usually because Holiday is not aggressive and to some extent Middleton also. When they attack it opens up lanes.

I played what would be considered a 3 or wing in today’s game. The most difficult thing a shooter can do is dribble off a screen and pull up for a shot. Your shoulders are almost never set and usually causes the ball to drift. Watch how guys like Lillard and Stef and Klay square up. It’s a thing of beauty

Guy who has been missing since Miami series is Forbes he's done nothing.

Without Middleton the Bucks are leaving Atlanta for vacation. Like 95% of players he gets in streaks good and bad. But when you look at his numbers, how he plays defense and fit in the system, I’m take him over a guy like Harden.
Oh I agree I like him better then Harden just because Harden is so shot dependent wanting his shots.

I said before the series Phoenix was more balanced. And it’s proven itself out. And this is the first series that we have missed The Big Ragu especially perimeter defense.

Every game has its unique flow. Phoenix hit more contested shots in game 2 than I can remember a team making. Especially Bridges. Game 3 they did not fall.

Bud has 1 year left on his deal
I think making finals he gets extended

It’s more. Harden is not a great defender if even average and plays iso ball too much

Matchups. Phoenix does a really good job on close outs and Forbes is a spot up shooter for the most part. Was a bit surprised he was not more effective vs Atlanta, totally understand why he was not effective vs Brooklyn

He's had zero roll pretty much these past 3 series I doubt anything changes
