June 8th Mandatory OTA begins

Agree, there is nothing to be either impressed or unimpressed about at this point with Love. At best, his Tuesday performance can make you "hopeful". The thing is, he's done some of this before - mostly in 2018 at Ut.St, then it all went down the drain in 2019. Some of 2019 can be explained by a decrease in talent around him compared to 2018 and a crap head coach - Gary Andersen. Still, it's bad sign when adversity turns you from great to mediocre like that.

You're hopeful because he has the raw tools - size, athleticism, strong arm. Still, plenty of guys have failed with those tools so you have to hope ML and the coaches can get him tracking positively.

My take on what I see ML wanting is a QB who can make that occasional play, but spends most of his time handing the ball off to runners who can pick up chunks of yards, and not put them in 3rd and long situations too often. Probably as close to possible as a 50/50 run/pass mix.

In that respect, you could say that the QB would be more like Starr was with the Packers, not like Rodgers or Favre.

Of course, if you're going that route, the defense has to be able to hold up so you don't need to air it out to get back in games.
