After The 2022 Packers Draft

Is if fair to bring up Wyatt's off field issues? Yes it's a big concern but he's also probably the 2nd best DT in the draft. At 28 worth a gamble I think. Also if Wyatt has another off field issue I will say cut him and move on he gets one chance and he blows it with another DV issue he's released.

Walker yes can bring up he scored low on wonderlic but again talent wise he might be the most talented ILB in the draft.

Watson he played at a FSU school and had knee injuries and Packers maybe have spent to much to get him. But team was desperate for a WR and made a move thinking they would not find anything better at 53 I can't blame them for that.
Yes it’s very fair to bring up off field issues. It’s funny. If other teams pick a dude with off field red flags it’s a reach. If GB does it’s just a gamble. Perception

I think talent wise a late 1st is worth it I would have not taken him top 20. At some point risk reward. I know some teams did take him off their board and I can see it that way also they want zero risk despite the talent.

If you are gambling 1st round equity 20 or 28 is irrelevant. It’s guaranteed money and year 1 contributions. Sorry ggg(

So when does the talent worthe the risk? I don't think it's being a homer saying it's worth the gamble. How some act we should have never drafted or even considered him.

Nobody ever said we should never have drafted him or considered him. The fact is both picks while talented have warts and honestly i put more stock in somone with character issues especially in GB. And it’s not some minor character flaw.

I actually thought for McGinn that was rather benign actually, not sure why some of you use lose it when he writessh))

As to the draft topic I thought it was okay, Wyatt is 100% a risk reward pick and the medical on Watson hurts the value to me a lot. As stated by Mark, if he tears that knee up in preseason and you got nothing knowing that you have completely crapped out.

The others were okay, Toms could end up being a steal. Ford was a turd pick. The rest depth.

Regarding the character stuff, I found Bob's take on that to be very strange as well. It may be true that Ted wouldn't have drafted Devandre Wyatt specially, but Ted brought plenty of turds to town. Corey Rodgers was a walking, talking gun felony. Koren Robinson had multiple DUIs, if I remember, and Ted brought him to the DUI-leniency capital of the USA. Johnny Jolly was a narcotics trafficker. Letroy Guion got busted traveling with massive amounts cash, weed and a gun, then charged a Florida State trooper while his truck was being searched - he's lucky the cop was cool headed and didn't unload his gun into him. I'd bet good money that one of Bob's sources is Elliot Wolf, or the Wolf family generally, and I know they have a bone to pick with Gute and Murphy about how all of that shook out. The fact is, every GM has blindspots of their own making when it comes to players. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes the on-field play makes the decision for them, but they all do it to some degree or another and pretending that Ted was squeaky clean on that sort of thing is just being untruthful.

Wyatt- I've never hated a pick so much in my life, between the off field issues and the fact he's already 24 those are 2 major red flags for me. This pick is basically why I don't give this draft an A.

Watson was a pick because they had their hands tied and because they fell in love from his visit. Dude could be Jordy or the next in of a list of WR reaches that litter the league. Like others had they not given up so much I really think it's okay.

The rest are good not great. Better depth then we started with.

As for McGinn, seriously if your going to let Bob get under your skin log out of everything sports until July or something. Bob gets people to read with that schtick and has for years. It obviously still works.

Also there was no #1 WR in this draft there was no Chase or Jefferson to draft.
Packers needed speed. This dude is the guy. Size, blocking ability, seems like a coachable, hardworking kid. Checks a lot of Packers-type boxes.
