He did basically say just that.... and despite all the pricks coming to his defense way overused the MVP thing. But at the end of the day he's pulling our di#$ again and trying to get a rise because he can.

Murphy was there when Favre was pushed out and does not want ot be the guy who pushed out Rodgers. Murphy has not grapefruits to stand up to old aging players who are fan favorites.

At this point I actually think they're going to pay him more to stay.

Murphy handles this roster the same way he handled Titletown District, that's how you know he's calling the shots. Safe, superficial, no imagination, no/little risk, waste of resources, short term thinking. The roster is the same as Titletown!

I'm not here to make apologies for Gute in his draft and personnel goofs over the years (and they have been balanced with great picks and personnel moves), but I simply can't jive the guy who came out in 2019 guns blazing in re-making the roster and then the next year boldly traded up in the first round for a QB with this current guy who seemingly wants to run back a 8-9 roster with few or no changes whatsoever. It doesn't make sense, I can't believe this is actually the route he would take if he was fully calling the shots on the roster. Only logical explanation is that personnel has marching orders from over his head.

Gute has made some good picks, and bad ones. Every GM has that happen. No matter how good you think you are, you can never be certain a player's college level skills will translate well in the NFL.
 
Was reading Aaron Jones 2023 cap numbr at $20 million is the largest number ever for a RB and would come in at as the 14th highest among cap numbers. Will be interesting if GB can lower this cap number enough to keep him or he will be gone
 
To me what's most frustrating over the long-term with this team is how much they've invested on defense in the draft and how it still seems like we haven't got that much in return.

On defense I still have a similar number of player concerns as on offense. While I think it’s coaching where a total staff overhaul is needed, the real, biggest need is some leadership on that side of the ball. You’ve got a bunch of talkers and immature personalities on that side of the ball and they need a coach that can rein that in to some degree, or an on-field guy to take charge. They have nobody right now who does that - IMO.

- Edge needs another body, probably a young guy from the draft. Gary is solid and needs to be re-signed. P.Smith probably needs to be gone after 2023, if not sooner. Getting a replacement ready should be a priority. Enagbare is a really nice rotational guy but I don’t know if he’s starter material.

- Safety needs lots of help. Amos is probably done and Savage is just not good. Sure, Savage looked better the last 2 games, but you just can’t seem to count on him. Time to draft one and to add a veteran FA. Doesn't need to be at pick 15, but somewhere in the first 4 rounds you need a safety.

- Beyond that I don’t see any dire needs for defense but I’m still looking for a guy for DL as I believe both Lowrey and Reed could be gone this off-season. Another depth piece is needed at CB.

Now, if a coaching change brings a major scheme change there might be another need or two (or three).
